You probably have heard about Re:Zero and Steins;Gate anime and the studio (White Fox) behind their animation. Recently White Fox opened Job recruitment for the production assistant position at the studio. But age limitation of women for the Job Recruitment causes White Fox Studio to come upfront and apologize.
Yesterday the official Twitter account of White Fox Studio Tweeted apology statement in regards to their job recruitment. In the tweet they apologized for only allowing women up to the age of 26 to apply for the production assistant position at the studio.
The Job Recruitment caused a lot of criticism. Which led the studio to issue formal apology and to correct their recruitment.
The apology tweet below is the repercussions of Studio White Fox requesting that only women under the age of 26 apply to their production assistant job posting.
The tweet translates to:
We deeply apologize for causing unpleasant feelings and worries to many people regardless of midnight. Even though I wasn’t studying, I’ve been recruiting in the same way since the company was founded, so I’m sure there were people who felt the same way in the past.
Moreover, there are two more apology Tweets after this one. “We just learned today about the Equal Employment Opportunity Law for Men and Women” they said. What they are talking about is Equal Employment Act, which was enacted in 1972 in Japan.
Well, they’ve reviewed their recruitment and it’s again open now. I hope that this will have a positive impact not only on White Fox Studio but on the entire animation industry.
