Plenty of Olympians paid tribute to Japan’s Otaku culture by channeling their inner fan while on the grandest stage and in the another event little while ago, a brazillian Vollyball player, Darlan Souza, showed his love towards Naruto by performing hand signs during the match.

This is basically showing that Naruto is one of those special few anime (Dragon Ball and One Piece) that are bigger than the anime medium. You have Athletes looking like they’re about to cast jutsu or pull some anime move.

There’s a UFC fighter, Stylebender, who even struck a Rock Lee pose once, right before his match came up and he also did Pain’s summoning jutsu. There are many more moments like this from Olympics and international matches.

It all shows how big anime franchise is getting time to time and its influence can’t be overlooked. What is your favorite anime reference in the world of professional sports? Comment down and point your thoughts, also don’t forget to share this article with your friends.
