Different types of Nichirin Swords color and their meaning in Demon Slayer
Below are some different types of Nichirin Swords based on their colors. Each color tells something about the user and has specific property.
Yellow Sword:
The yellow Nichirin blade in Demon Slayer belongs to Zenitsu Agatsuma, which symbolizes lightning or thunder.
The blade shows elements and signs of fast moments just like its user. Zenitsu is one of the fastest demon slayer in the series and most of the fans have already saw that during the fight with Daki.
Red Sword:
The red Nichirin blade, wielded by Rengoku Kyojuro and it symbolises flame or fire. Just like Zenitsu’s sword, Rengoku’s blade took a different unique types of pattern on it.
As you can tell by the colour, the sword represented the user’s unbreakable will. It is the will of fire the user holds.
Blue Sword:
The blue color Nichirin blade belongs to Giyu Tomioka, and it symbolizes water. It is the first Nichirin Swords that we see in the series, same goes with the user, Giyu Tomioka.
His fighting style is just like his sword, fluid and clean but really powerful.
Black Sword:
The black color Nichirin blade belongs to the lead protagonist of the series, Kamado Tanjiro and there’s not much info about this sword.
The reason behind this is that the wielders of Black Nichirin Swords couldn’t live long life.
Bright Red Sword:
We have seen bright red colour Nichirin Swords wielded by Yoriichi and Tanjiro Kamado. Only people with Demon Slayer mark can make their sword bright red color by increasing the temperature of the sword that caused cellular-level damage to demons.
Tanjiro turned his black sword to bright red during the fight with Gyutaro.
Lavender Sword:
The lavender nichirin blade belongs to the Serpent Pillar, Obanai Iguro, and it symbolizes snakes. The words Destroyer of Demons (惡あっ鬼き滅めっ殺さつ, Akki Messatsu?) is engraved on the side of sword.
Sword’s shape modeled into waves resembling a twisting snake, which is lavender in color.
Indigo Grey Sword:
The indigo grey color Nichirin blade belongs to Inosuke Hashibira, and it symbolizes beasts. What intresting about Inosuke is that he weilds not one but two indigo colored Nichirin Swords.
The beast breathing style gives Inosuke an enhanced sense of touch and significant movements.
Grey Sword:
The grey color blade belongs to the Stone Hashira, Gyomei Himejima, and just like its color it symbolizes stone.
Gyomei Himejima is physically stronger than his fellow Demon Slayer Hashira. He wields one of the most impressive Nichirin blades (Grey) in history.
Pink Color:
The pink color blade belongs to the Love Hashira, Mitsuri Kanroji, and just like its color it symbolizes love.
Mitsuri Kanroji is ridiculously strong and loves complementing others .It’s no surprise Mitsuri’s Nichirin Blade turned pink.
White Color:
The white color nichirin blade belongs to the mist hashira, Muichiro Tokito, and it symbolizes mist.
Muichiro Tokito’s personality matches his white color nichirin sword. He is the Mist Hashira, and his breathing technique was derived from the Wind Breathing style.
Green Sword:
The green nichirin blade belongs to the wind Hashira, Sanemi Shinazugawa, and it symbolizes wind.
Sanemi is the hot-blooded Hashira and using the wind Nichirin sword he can bring cyclone of fury to any demon he crosses.
