The spin-off focuses on illegal heroes who use their Quirks to help others, despite not having a Hero License, and follows Koichi Himawari’s journey, set five years before the start of the main series.

The biggest announcement from the stage was the reveal of the My Hero Academia: Vigilantes anime adaptation, but it also confirmed that the main series’ eighth and final season will premiere in Fall 2025.

This was effectively the final Jump Festa stage for My Hero Academia while the anime is still ongoing.

The My Hero Academia: Vigilantes manga is drawn by Betten Court and written by Hideyuki Furuhashi. Viz Media describes the premise as:

Koichi Haimawari couldn’t make the cut to become an official hero, so he uses his modest Quirk to do good deeds in his spare time. Then one day a fateful encounter with some local thugs leads him to team up with two other unlikely heroes. None of them really know what they’re doing, but they’ve got the courage—or foolishness—to try. But they soon discover fighting evil takes more than just being brave…
