There is no need to subscribe multiple services to watch your favourite anime anymore. It is official now that Funimation and Crunchyroll are merging together to form World’s largest anime library.
On March 1st, Crunchyroll officially announced that it will merge with Funimation and operate as Crunchyroll. As a result, content previously exclusive to Funimation and Wakanim will now be available on Crunchyroll. After the merging you don’t need to buy subscription of Funimation and Crunchyroll separately, just a subscription of Crunchyroll would be all you need.
Starting with the spring 2022 season, their newly licensed anime series will only stream on Crunchyroll. Funimation will only stream new episodes of continuing series.
As a welcome offer, Funimation, Wakanim, and VRV subscribers get a special deal for 60 days of Crunchyroll Premium free.
Accounts for Funimation and Crunchyroll currently remain separate. Existing Funimation digital copy, watch history, or queue will not be transferred to Crunchyroll yet, but Funimation stated that it is working on it, so look forward for more information.
Crunchyroll website also posted a list of Funimation anime that are now available on Crunchyroll. As mentioned on the top of list, it will keep on updating the anime titles.
