One Piece Fan Complaints Over The Manga Hiatus In Japan

One Piece has been going solid all these years and it has one of the biggest fan base. It’s common for manga publisher to take breaks but seems like some One Piece fans in Japan are not happy with the hiatus.

The way they are criticizing it seems like they are not necessarily mad about the hiatus. It’s more so having Hiatus and that the pacing of One Piece is just not that good. If the pacing was fine, then the Japanese fans would not be pissed off this much.

Highlighted Fan Complaints Over One Piece Manga Breaks

One Piece began publication in 1997, and has now surpassed 1,000 chapters. It’s been several years now since it’s release and now One Piece usually takes one break every so often.

Here are some recent complaint from Japanese readers (via My Jitsu):

“One Piece going on hiatus is no good.”

“One Piece of late has been going on hiatus a bunch. Plus, the story development has been sloppy.”

“The most recent Shonen Jump was pretty interesting. But One Piece, you’re taking too much time off.”

“One Piece is going on too many breaks. It’s like every other week.”

“Don’t take the week off because the story isn’t going well!”

The Wano Country Arc started in 2018 and It’s been going on for longer than any other. But the complaints with the breaks sounds silly.

Oda’s break are not even enough considering how much he works. The man has been going at it for 20+ years. Although they got a point with Wano Country Arc, it honestly feels prolonged.
