Sakamoto Days Anime Season 1 Trailer & Release Date Announced!

Netflix’s anime adaptation of “Sakamoto Days,” which is based on the popular Weekly Shonen Jump manga of the same name, has received significant updates, including its official date and details regarding its 2025 broadcast schedule, along with a new trailer.

Through the series’ official account on X (previously known Twitter), numerous key were shared about the anime adaptation of Soto Days.

The series is set debut on January 11, 2025, and will be released in two separate cours (most likely comprising 24 to 26 episodes), with the second cour expected to air in July 2025. Additionally, the anime has unveiled its main trailer and a new key visual, which fans can below.

The series will be animated by TMS Entertainment, known for titles like Detective Conan and Sonic X. They are also behind the adaptation of the well-received ongoing series Blue Box and have just announced the return of Dr. Stone, which is also set for 2025 and will follow a split cours format.

Netflix’s version of Sakamoto Days will be based on the manga by Yuto Suzuki, which is serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump.

The acclaimed manga and anime licensor VIZ Media publishes the series in North America, summarizing it as follows: “Sakamoto has enjoyed a tranquil life since stepping away from the underworld. He now manages a local shop with his beloved wife and child, although he has become a bit less fit. However, his past catches up to him one day when an old acquaintance arrives with a proposal he cannot turn down: return to the world of assassins or face death!”
