There’s no doubt that anime is one of the biggest source of entertainment but for some fans it’s like a lifeline. It’s only for entertainment purpose but some fans take it too seriously and think of living in anime world. A related incident happened in Japan, where a 28 Year old man broke into a high school and stole various things. Upon questioning, he answered that he wanted to enjoy the world of “Love Live!” anime.
In late October, Kohei Ohori, a 28-year-old resident of Shizuoka City, accused of trespassing and stealing in buildings. He was found sneaking into a local public high school and steal school equipment such as desk and amplifier. And after pulling this off he decided to pull a second crime by burglarizing a gymnasium of middle/high school of girls.
According to police reports, Ohori stole at least one long folding table, textbooks, amplifier, some trophies, cable spool, school uniform and other random items.
Kohei Ohori’s trial in Shizuoka District Court began on February 16. Ohori admitted to the charges, saying “There is no mistake” in regards to the accusations against him. His compliant attitude during the trial is likely to help him avoid jail time.
His motives behind pulling off this crime had everyone scratching their head. Upon interrogation, Kohei Ohori revealed his motives behind the crimes. “I wanted to get a taste of the world of Love Live,” Ohori told investigators.
He mentioned “Love Live” (anime franchise about schoolgirls forming idol singer groups) and wanted to get taste of it. The stolen amplifier and cord sort of fit with the “Love Live” motive. But going to this hights for love towards anime is kinda silly.
