Jujutsu Kaisen anime has been making waves since its release, not just in anime community but among manga fans too. After the release of Jujutsu Kaisen Shibuya Arc (season 2), the ratings of anime skyrocketed to a level that it made a whole new Guinness World records by becoming the most in-demand anime in the world.
According to the latest Guinness World Records, Jujutsu Kaisen has claimed the prestigious title of the most in-demand anime, dethroning Attack on Titan by a close margin.
Attack on Titan had held this position since 2020, making it a significant feat for Jujutsu Kaisen. Even the long-standing favorite, One Piece, couldn’t quite match up to the skyrocketing popularity of Jujutsu Kaisen.
Guinness World Records uses data from Parrot Analytics to determine anime demand. Parrot Analytics considers factors like downloads, streaming, social media buzz, and online searches. They found Jujutsu Kaisen to be 71.2 times more popular than an average TV show. Its peak popularity was last December.
Jujutsu Kaisen cleaned up at the 2024 Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2024, and Guinness World Records noted that its young viewership helped propel it this high. About 71% of Jujutsu Kaisen’s viewers are between the ages of 13 and 22. One Piece’s audience of 13-to-22-year-olds is at approximately 56%, and Attack on Titan’s is percentage is a little higher, at about 64%.
Jujutsu Kaisen has been dominating anime scene since the release of season 2. During Crunchyroll anime award JJK was the one that won the award for “The best anime of the year”.
