Yesterday, a Tweet came from official DBS: Super Hero Twitter and it covered a new interview with Akira Toriyama. In response to a question, Akira Toriyama said that “Gohan is actually stronger than everyone” but does he really mean that? Keep reading to understand this statement.
Gohan fans went berserk on Twitter after hearing the overpowered statement about Gohan from the creator, Akira Toriyama himself. We already know that Gohan has something that none of the Z-Fighter has, his potential is way beyond any Z-Fighter. But getting to the same level as Goku and Vegeta with some days or months training doesn’t seems fair.
So, below is the official tweet covering an interview with Akira Toriyama:

Upon asking “What was the aim of Gohan, Piccolo, and the Red Ribbon Army?” Akira Toriyama answered: “Gohan is actually stronger than anyone…or so it’s said, but lately he hasn’t really gotten a chance to shine. In order to motivate Gohan, it takes his revered teacher Piccolo rather than his father Goku. I figured I’d try giving birth to a new superhero by putting these two in the spotlight through their intense battles with the Gamma androids.”
Focus on the Keyword “or so it’s said”, he’s basically saying people think Gohan is stronger rather than saying “Gohan is stronger than Whis, Zeno or Goku and Vegeta”. He’s being vague with his answer.
I don’t think Gohan could catch-up to Goku MUI or Vegeta’s Ultra Ego leave alone Whis, Zeno or other strong character, likes there’s no way.
The statement from Akira Toriyama only tells that he considers Gohan to be the strongest. Gohan can no doubt surpass Goku and Z-Fighters but not without consistent training. His potential is beyond any Z-Fighter and the spotlight is once again on Gohan.

By saying or so its said means that there are people that are indefinitely going to be stronger than Gohan, but those people are not Goku and Vegeta. Toryiama has already shown that Gohan can get stronger than Goku without training for much time at all during Buu saga where Gohan has the only character holding his own a gainst Buu. But there has to be a saga right? So Goku once again blunders causing Gohan to be absorbed allowing the saga to continue.
And saying that it wouldn’t be fair for Gohan to get stronger than Goku and Vegeta in a couple months is whiny to be 100% honest with you man. Also it’s inaccurate to what Toryiama has done. If you look at Frieza he was no match for Super Saiyan but took a month to train and beat Goku’s Super Saiyan Blue. Toryiama obviously isn’t opposed to powering up his character s quickly and what you’re saying is just whiny. People get stronger and the main character is t always the strongest.

Totally understand, Gohan has the potential to be stronger than any Z-Fighter but think about it, Gohan can’t really reach the levels of Goku MUI without any training from Whis or Beerus. He has no God ki and still making progress with his Ultimate version. I think Toriyama meant “strongest” in terms of potential- not power, afterall Gohan got more potential. Making him reach the levels of Goku & Vegeta in just a movie would make all their hardwork go waste.
