Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Becomes 10th Highest-Grossing Anime Movie Of All Time

Jujutsu Kaisen franchise kicked into high gears as the prequel movie to the popular anime Jujutsu Kaisen premiered in Japan in late December. Since the release of the film, it has made great revenue and it’s only growing up every week. Now after 38 days of the release in Japan, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie becomes the 10th Highest-Grossing anime movie of all time.

The fact that Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is a prequel movie and still it is breaking records in Japan’s box-office. With a running time of 105 minutes, Jujutsu kaisen has exceeded 9.8 Billion Yen in box office revenue with 7.1 million admissions over a 38 days period in Japan Theatres.

In the list of Japan’s top 10 highest-grossing anime movies, Demon Slayer is holding the first position with 40.32Billion Yen. Jujutsu Kaisen currently grossed 9.37 Billion Yen in total and is about to surpass “Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time” movie to become 9th Highest-Grossing anime movie, by crossing 10.23 Billion Yen mark.

The Jujutsu Kaisen anime premiered in October 2020. Crunchyroll streamed the anime outside of Asia as the anime aired in Japan. They also streamed dubs in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and German.

Gege Akutami started Jujutsu kaisen manga series in March 2018, in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. However, this movie is based on a 1-shot manga, which was published in April 2017 in Shueisha’s Jump Giga magazine. Furthermore, Studio Mappa picked the series for anime adaptation, which was released in 2020. The movie also animated by Mappa Studio.
