Studio Ghibli Anime Artist To Support Ukraine By Selling Artworks

As we all know the situation between Ukraine and Russia is really bad at the moment. Everyone is trying their best to support Ukraine and the anime industry is also coming forward in this campaign. The anime artist of Studio Ghibli is planning to sell his artwork to support Ukraine.

Recently, Japanese animator Nizo Yamamoto, one of the country’s leading anime artists, posted a Tweet. In the Tweet he is oppose Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and would like to support Ukraine by doing donations. And as an anime artist, he thought of selling his artwork to gather donations and support Ukraine.

The tweet translates to:

“I oppose Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. At the moment, I’m thinking about what I can do for the Ukrainian people.

I’d like to make a personal donation through UNICEF and draw a picture to sell, donating all the proceeds. I’ll announce details at a later date.”

Nizo Yamamoto (born on the Goto Islands of Nagasaki) worked as an animation art director for many renowned Studio Ghibli films such as “Castle in the Sky,” “Grave of Fireflies,” “Princess Mononoke,” and “The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.”

Amidst the chaos, the citizens of Ukraine are calling out for help and resources needed for survival. The creator of one of the famous anime, Bleach also joined the campaign of supporting Ukrainians by posting an artwork featuring Ukraine flag colors.
