Every once in a while we hear about a manga artist having to take time off due to back and nerve problems in their hands. A similar tweet came from an episode director of Attack on Titan a week ago. It says ‘i went home for the first time in 3 days’. It went viral on twitter within days and in response to this viral tweet the Special Effects Animation Director for Attack on Titan at Mappa posted a tweet today. He said “i went home for the first time in 8 years”. And fans are taking this tweet in a sarcastic way.
MAPPA is an animation studio that’s in the spotlight a lot, but there are lot of Studio’s that do the same thing. CloverWorks is the prime example for that, Chief Animation Director Kiminori Ito started a public outcry on December 21, when he made a post saying “He’ll be camping at his work tonight”.
Similarly a tweet came from episode director of Attack on Titan at Mappa. He said ” I went home for the first time in 3 days” and he later deleted that.
This thing is tweet was kind of vague, it says coming home after 3 days. This can depend on many circumstances, many animators live in dorms, so it can be any case. And after @chibiReviews made this tweet viral many big anime news sites covered this tweet.
Satoshi Sakai, Special Effects Animation Director for Attack on Titan at Mappa posted a tweet and fans are taking it as a sarcastic reply to the above tweet.
In the tweet he said, “It’s been about 8 years since i went home”.
It doesn’t necessarily mean that he is replying to the viral Mappa 3 days overwork tweet, it could be anything.
