There are so many mysteries in Attack on Titan and all of that makes it a great enjoyable manga and anime. While some mysteries are answered by the creator of this highly unpredictable show, some are still out there as fan theories. We can talk about all of them later but let’s talk about what makes Attack on Titan world mirror of our real world.
This mirror world topic was already discussed while the manga was on air. But i can bet if you are an anime only watcher then you probably have missed the scene which shows why Attack on Titan world is mirror of our real world.
Here is the scene I’m talking about:
Majority of sub anime watchers don’t pay much attention to the background and scenes. In this particular scene you can see them talking about heading towards North direction and also we can see the sun setting in the East direction which is kinda weird.
It’s the same scene in manga so it can’t be the fault of animation (some anime watchers probably thinking of that). So the real question is why the sun setting in east direction? that’s exactly opposite of our real world.
Well, the creator of Attack on Titan, Hajime Isayama, already gave an answer on this topic in his Q & A from January 2017 Issue.
Isayama on why does the sun rise from the west and sets in east
There’s a Q & A of Hajime Isayama from January 2017 issue in which he answered some questions. One of them was about the direction of sun rise and set in Attack of Titan world.
Isayama gave his answer to this question. The answer is as follow:
“I created that world to be like a mirror image of the world we live in”
Isayama
So, this answer by the creator himself cleared up the fact that Attack on Titan world is mirror of reality.
Isayama’s idea about the AOT world is that its a mirror of our world. Sun direction is one of the examples of that, another is the reversed flipped map.
It’s crazy how there are so many mysteries in this series, comment if you know any intresting one. Share this article with your friends and you can also follow us on Instagram for more updates.
