While the first movie of Jujutsu Kaisen franchise, Jujutsu Kaisen 0, breaking records in Japanese Box Office, Doraemon new movie came in clutch and dethroned Jujutsu Kaisen 0 from the top spot of Japan Weekend Box Office.
We all loved watching Doraemon as kid and many are still spending their binge watching it. Doraemon: Nobita’s Little Star Wars 2021, the 41st feature movie in the Doraemon anime franchise is now holding 1st position in Weekend Box Office, earning an impressive 394 million yen (3.41 million USD) on 322,000 admissions on its first Saturday and Sunday, dethroning Jujutsu Kaisen 0 and pushing it to the 3rd position.
“Doraemon: Nobita’s Little Star Wars 2021” is actually a remake of the 1985 Doraemon movie of the same title.
The movie would have been already out in theaters last year March 5, 2021, if COVID-19 wasn’t there. The movie opened last Friday after a delay due to the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

After arrival of Doraemon New Movie, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie dropped from #1 to #3 on its 11th weekend. Jujutsu Kaisen 0 sold 87,000 tickets to earn 133 million yen (About US$1.15 million) over the weekend.
Currently Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie is holding the 8th position in highest grossing anime movies of all time in Japan.
