“Haikyu! Battle at the Garbage Dump” movie is making big moves in Japanese box-office. It even surpassed “Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back” and joined Top 100 Highest Earning movies list at #85th position.
The latest update on the box office for “Haikyu!! The Movie: Battle at the Garbage Dump” is here! Since its release on February 16th, this anime-based film has drawn in a whopping 5.5 million viewers and amassed over 7.9 billion yen in just 38 days.
It’s currently holding the 85th spot in the domestic box office, outperforming “Gedo Senki” (2006) with its 7.84 billion yen. Plus, it’s even edged out “Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back/Pikachu’s Summer Vacation” (1998) from the top 100! (Stats provided by Kogyo Tsushinsha)
The sequel to the fourth season of the TV anime “Haikyu!! TO THE TOP,” scheduled for release as a two-part movie version. First parst features the highly anticipated showdown between Karasuno High School and Nekoma High School, famously dubbed the “Battle at the Garbage Dump.”
