Jujutsu Kaisen is one the most well-received anime and the hype this franchise created among fans is just insane. Ever since the first season of Jujutsu Kaisen premiered in 2020, fans can’t get their eyes off of one of the lead protagonist, Gojo Satoru. There is no one quite like Gojo Satoru and the fact that he covers his eyes using a blindfold has many fans thinking that he can really see through his blindfold.
We have seen Gojo Satoru wearing black blindfold in Jujutsu Kaisen season 1 and a white one in Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie. Not just a blindfold but we have also seen him wearing sunglasses to hide his eyes. There’s actually a coherence reason behind Gojo covering his eyes.
Why does Gojo Satoru use Blindfold to cover his eyes?
We have an huge explanation for this but let’s just read out a short one for now real quick. Gojo Satoru covers his eyes due to limit the all sensing powers of his Six Eyes technique. It’s the technique that allows him to see cursed energy in extreme detail. Not just curses but everything around him to the point of perceiving.
Gojo only seems to take off his blindfold whenever he starts to get serious in battle. It’s just because the technique makes him tire out very quickly.
Blindfold helps Gojo in tone down the intensity of Six Eyes. With the Blindfold on, he can easily and even more precisely see and sense his surrounding.
Is Gojo Satoru Blind or can he see though the blindfold?
Gojo Satoru is not blind and he can actually use his ability six eyes to sense his surrounding. Here is an explanation for this from the author of Jujutsu Kaisen himself:
“He can even see like high-resolution thermography when wearing a blindfold,” he continued. “He can even recognize things that don’t have cursed energy, such as buildings, through the residue and the flow of the cursed energy”.
